## Overview
Once you've created a Team, you can add people to it from the team's own page. Grouping people into a Team lets you assign learning, run reports and manage access for the whole group at once. To add several people at the same time from the People list instead, see the **How to Bulk Add People to a Team** article.

## How to add people to a Team
1. Go to **Settings → Teams**.
2. Open the team you want to add people to.
3. Click **Add People**.
4. Start typing a person's name and select them from the list. Repeat to add as many people as you need.
5. Click **Add People** to confirm.

The selected people are added to the team straight away.

> **Tip:** Adding someone to a Team doesn't remove them from any other Teams they belong to — a person can be a member of several Teams at once.

## Things to keep in mind
* You add people from the team page, not from **Edit Team** — the edit window covers the team's name, status, parent team and managers only.
* Adding people to a Team is additive; it never removes them from Teams they're already in. To take someone out, see the **How to Remove a Person From a Team** article.
* To move a whole group into a Team in one step, use the bulk action on the People list — see the **How to Bulk Add People to a Team** article.
* **Dynamic Teams** don't have an **Add People** button — their membership is set by criteria, not added by hand. See the **Dynamic Teams** article.

## FAQs
**Can a person be in more than one Team?**
Yes. Adding someone to a Team leaves their other Team memberships untouched, so people can belong to as many Teams as you need.

**How do I add lots of people at once?**
Use the bulk action on the People list — tick the people, choose **Bulk Actions → Add Users to Team**, and pick the Team. See the **How to Bulk Add People to a Team** article.

**Why doesn't my Team have an Add People button?**
Dynamic Teams populate automatically from criteria, so they don't have an **Add People** button. Only static Teams let you add members by hand.

**How do I remove someone from a Team?**
Open the team, find the person in the member list and remove them — see the **How to Remove a Person From a Team** article.

## Who can do this
**Owners** and **Admins** can add people to any Team. **Managers**, **People Managers**, **Content Managers**, **Instructors**, **Employees** and **Restricted** users cannot add people to Teams — even a Manager who is a team's Primary Manager (they can edit the team's details, but adding members is reserved for Owners and Admins).
