## Overview

By default in SuperPath, **approvals and assessments are assigned to specific individuals** on each learning item, so the right people are responsible for reviewing progress and maintaining quality. In some organisations this can create bottlenecks — especially when an assigned approver or assessor is unavailable.

To solve this, SuperPath lets you enable a setting that allows **Admins to approve and assess all learnings across the platform**, regardless of who each item is assigned to. It's ideal for teams that need speed and visibility, or smaller teams where roles overlap.

## Default behaviour

Before this setting is enabled:

* Approvers and assessors must be **explicitly assigned** to each learning.
* Only those assigned users can approve learning requests or complete assessments.
* Admins **cannot override** these assignments.

This keeps workflows structured, but can limit flexibility when an assigned person is away.

## What changes when enabled

Once the setting is turned on, all Admins can:

* View every approval request across the organisation.
* Approve any learning request.
* Access and complete any assessment request.

Admins are no longer limited to items assigned to them, so workflows become more flexible and responsive. Assigned approvers and assessors still exist — this setting simply lets Admins step in when needed.

## How to enable admin approvals and assessments

1. Go to **Settings → Features**.
2. Scroll to the **People** section.
3. Switch on **Allow Admins to approve and assess all learnings**.
4. Click **Save**.

> **Note:** Only users with the **Owner** role can see and change this setting. The toggle won't appear for Admins. If you don't have access, contact your account Owner.

## How Admins use this feature

Once enabled:

1. Go to the **Requests** page.
2. Open the **Approvals** or **Assessments** tab.
3. Review requests across the organisation.
4. Select any request and take action — click **Approve** for learning approvals, or complete and review assessments.

## Things to keep in mind

* The setting can only be enabled by an **Owner**, and it applies to **all Admins** in the account.
* Assigned approvers and assessors are not removed — the setting is additive, letting Admins act alongside them.
* It's best used to **support**, not replace, assigned approvers. Keep clear internal guidelines on when Admins should step in, and review workflows periodically to maintain accountability.

## FAQs

**Who can turn this on?**
Only the **Owner**. Admins can use the feature once it's enabled, but they can't enable it themselves.

**Does this remove the assigned approvers and assessors?**
No. Assignments stay in place — this simply lets Admins approve or assess any item as well.

**Where do Admins action requests once it's on?**
On the **Requests** page, under the **Approvals** and **Assessments** tabs.

## Who can do this

Only **Owners** can enable this setting — the toggle is hidden from everyone else, including Admins, and the **Settings** area itself is limited to Owners and Admins. Once enabled, **all Admins** can approve and assess any learning. **Managers**, **Instructors**, **Employees** and **Restricted** users are not affected by this setting.
