## Overview
The Leaderboard ranks the people in your organisation by the points they've earned for learning actions, fostering a bit of friendly competition. It's part of SuperPath's Gamification features, so it only appears once Gamification is switched on for your account.

You can view a compact version on your Dashboard, or open the full Leaderboard page to see everyone, switch between timeframes, filter by Team, and — depending on your role — export the data.

## Before you start
The Leaderboard is only available when **Gamification is enabled** for your account. If Gamification is turned off, the trophy icon and the Dashboard Leaderboard card won't appear.

An Owner or Admin can enable it under **Settings → Gamification** by turning on **Enable gamification on your account**. Doing so activates points, the Leaderboard and custom points configuration together.

> **Note:** Restricted users don't see the Leaderboard, even when Gamification is enabled.

## How to open the Leaderboard from your Dashboard
1. Go to your **Dashboard**.
2. Find the **Leaderboard** card (marked with a trophy icon) in the right-hand panel. It shows the top 5 people, with medals for the top 3.
3. Click **View Leaderboard** at the bottom of the card to open the full page.

## How to open the full Leaderboard page
1. In the top navigation bar, click the **trophy icon** (its tooltip reads **Leaderboard**).
2. The **Leaderboard** page opens, listing everyone ranked by their total points.

## Using the Leaderboard
Once you're on the Leaderboard page, you can:

* **Change the timeframe** — use the **Week**, **Month** and **Year** toggle at the top right to change the period the points are counted over. It defaults to **Month**.
* **Filter by Team** — unless your account uses a team-only feed, you'll see a **Filter by team** dropdown. Choose **All**, or pick a Team to see just that Team's ranking. The Teams you can choose from depend on your role: Owners and Admins can filter by any Team, Managers by the Teams they manage, and everyone else by the Teams they belong to.
* **Export** — **Owners**, **Admins**, **Managers** and **People Managers** see an **Export** button that downloads the Leaderboard to a CSV/Excel file, including each person's total, assigned and self-assigned points.

## Things to keep in mind
* The Leaderboard reflects points earned within the selected timeframe (Week, Month or Year), not all-time totals.
* If your account uses a **team-only feed**, the main Leaderboard automatically scopes to your own Team rather than the whole organisation. If you aren't in a Team, it will appear empty.
* The **Export** button is only shown to **Owners**, **Admins**, **Managers** and **People Managers**. The **Filter by team** dropdown appears for everyone (unless your account uses a team-only feed), but the Teams you can pick from depend on your role.
* Points are awarded for learning actions such as completing assignments and Pathways, signing in and commenting. See *What Points Are Awarded* for the full breakdown.

## FAQs
**Why can't I see the Leaderboard?**
The most likely reason is that Gamification isn't enabled for your account — an Owner or Admin can switch it on under **Settings → Gamification**. Restricted users don't see the Leaderboard even when Gamification is on.

**Why is my Leaderboard empty?**
If your account uses a team-only feed and you aren't a member of any Team, the Leaderboard has no one to rank. It can also be empty if no points have been earned in the selected timeframe — try switching to **Year**.

**Can I see just my own Team?**
Unless your account uses a team-only feed, use the **Filter by team** dropdown to pick a Team. Owners and Admins can filter by any Team, Managers by the Teams they manage, and everyone else by the Teams they belong to.

**Can I download the Leaderboard?**
**Owners**, **Admins**, **Managers** and **People Managers** can use the **Export** button to download it as a CSV/Excel file.

## Who can do this
Any logged-in member of your organisation can view the Leaderboard once Gamification is enabled. The entry points — the trophy icon in the top bar and the Dashboard card — are shown to every role except **Restricted**, so Restricted users can't reach it. This is a UI restriction, not a separate Leaderboard permission (every role can already read the tenant).

The **Export** button is limited to **Owners**, **Admins**, **Managers** and **People Managers**. The **Filter by team** dropdown is available to all roles unless your account uses a team-only feed (the Teams shown are scoped to your role). Enabling Gamification itself (**Settings → Gamification**) is an **Owner**/**Admin** action.
