## Overview
You can add a call-to-action button to an announcement so learners can act on it straight away — for example, jumping to a pathway, opening a policy page, or visiting an external sign-up form. The button appears on the announcement tile on the learner's dashboard.

## How to add a call-to-action button
1. Go to **Settings → Features** and, under the **Dashboard** section, open **Manage announcements**.
2. Click **Create announcement**, or open an existing one with the **Edit** (pencil) icon.
3. In the **Button Link** field, enter the URL the button should open.
4. In the **Button Text** field, enter the label to show on the button.
5. Click **Create** (or **Save**).

## Internal vs external links
* An **internal link** (a path within SuperPath) opens the destination inside the platform.
* An **external link** opens in a new browser tab.

If you set a link but leave the button text blank, an external-link button falls back to showing **View**.

## Things to keep in mind
* Both **Button Link** and **Button Text** are optional — add them only if you want a button.
* The button appears on the announcement tile on the learner's dashboard.
* The button is separate from the announcement's image and video; you can combine a button with either.

## FAQs
**Are the button fields required?**
No — they're optional. Leave them blank if the announcement doesn't need a button.

**What happens if I add a link but no button text?**
For an external link, the button falls back to showing **View**.

**Can the button link to somewhere inside SuperPath?**
Yes — an internal path opens within the platform, while an external URL opens in a new tab.

## Who can do this
**Owners** and **Admins** can add a call-to-action button to an announcement. **Managers**, **Content Managers**, **People Managers**, **Instructors**, **Employees** and **Restricted** users cannot.
