# How to Change Your Organisation and Platform Name

## Overview
SuperPath stores two separate names for your account, and they do different jobs. Your **Organisation Name** is the official, legal name of your company — it's used for billing, contracts and legal purposes. Your **Platform Name** is the friendly, customised name for your SuperPath platform — it's what appears inside the platform, in emails and in other communications to your people. Both live together under **Company Details** on the General settings tab, so you can update either (or both) in the same place.

## How to change your organisation and platform name
1. Go to **Settings → General**.

2. In the **Company Details** section, edit the **Organisation Name** field to update your official company name. Hover the question-mark icon beside the label for a reminder of what this name is used for.
3. Edit the **Platform Name** field to update the customised name your people see across the platform and in emails.
4. A save bar appears at the top of the screen once you've made a change. Click **Save changes** to apply, or **Discard** to undo.

Once saved, you'll see a confirmation message and the new names take effect straight away.

## Things to keep in mind
* Both fields are required and must be at least two characters long — you can't save either one blank.
* The **Organisation Name** is used for billing, contracts and legal purposes, so keep it as your true legal entity name.
* The **Platform Name** is the name shown to your learners inside the platform and in the emails they receive, so it's the one to make recognisable and on-brand.
* Changes apply to the whole account, not just your own view.

## FAQs
**What's the difference between the Organisation Name and the Platform Name?**
The Organisation Name is your official company name used for billing, contracts and legal purposes. The Platform Name is the customised name shown inside the platform and in emails and communications to your people. They can be the same or different — it's up to you.

**Where does the Platform Name appear?**
It's used throughout the platform itself and in the emails and other communications SuperPath sends on your behalf.

**Do I need to update anything else after changing these names?**
No. Saving on the General tab is all that's needed — the new names are applied across the account immediately.

## Who can do this
**Owners** and **Admins** can change the Organisation Name and Platform Name. **Managers**, **Content Managers**, **People Managers**, **Instructors**, **Employees** and **Restricted** users cannot — saving these details requires permission to update the account, which those roles don't have.
