Overview
The Discussions hub gives you a few ways to narrow down what you see and reorder the list — by category, by tag, by status, and by sort order. You can combine them to zero in on exactly the discussions you want.

How to filter by category
Categories appear as a row of pills beneath the tabs (they show only when your organisation has more than one category set up).
- Go to Discussions.
- Click a category pill to show only discussions in that category.
- Click All to clear the category filter.
How to filter by tag
Tag chips appear above the list and reflect the tags used by the discussions currently loaded.
- Click a tag chip to filter the list to discussions carrying that tag.
- Click additional tags to add them to the filter.
- Click a selected tag again (or click All tags) to remove it.
How to filter by status
Use the status dropdown on the right of the filter bar.
- Open the status dropdown.
- Choose All to show open and archived discussions, Open for active discussions only, or Archived for archived ones only.
How to change the sort order
Use the sort dropdown next to the status dropdown.
- Open the sort dropdown.
- Choose Newest (most recently created first), Recent activity (most recently active first), or Most comments (busiest first).
Good to know: Your category, tag, status and sort selections are held in the page address, so you can bookmark or share a filtered view and it will reopen the same way.
Things to keep in mind
- Tag chips only list tags found on the discussions currently loaded, so the available tags change as you switch category or tab.
- The status and sort controls are hidden while a category filter returns no results — clear the category to bring them back.
- Filters apply to the list you're viewing, so they work alongside the All, My Discussions and Following tabs.
FAQs
Can I use more than one filter at once?
Yes. Category, tags, status and sort combine, so you can narrow the list on several fronts together.
Why don't I see any category pills?
Categories only appear when your organisation has more than one discussion category configured.
What does the "All" status option include?
Both open and archived discussions.
Who can do this
Anyone who can access the Discussions hub can filter and sort the list — Owners, Admins, Managers, Content Managers, People Managers, Instructors, Employees and Restricted users. Filtering only changes your own view and has no role restriction.
