## Overview

For online Events you can generate a Google Meet link without leaving SuperPath. The link is created against your connected Google Calendar and dropped straight into the Event's **location** field, so attendees have somewhere to join.

You do this in the Event editor, on the Event's **Details** tab. To open it, go to **Events** in the left-hand menu and click the Event you want to edit.

## Before you start

Generating a Meet link relies on your own Google Calendar being connected to SuperPath. If it isn't connected, the generate control won't appear next to the **location** field.

To connect it, follow *How to connect Google Calendar*. Once connected, come back to the Event and generate the link.

## How to generate the link

1. Open the Event and find the **location** field (labelled **Add a location (optional)**).
2. Click the video-camera button next to the field (**Generate Google Meet Link**).
3. Wait a moment while SuperPath creates the link — it then appears in the **location** field.

> **Note:** The link is created using your Google account. Behind the scenes SuperPath briefly creates and removes a Meet-enabled entry on your primary Google Calendar to mint the link, then places the link in the Event's location.

## Saving your changes

The generated link is placed in the **location** field but isn't final until you save.

1. Generate the link so it appears in the **location** field.
2. In the **Unsaved changes** bar at the top of the page, click **Save**.
3. To undo, click **Discard** and confirm.

## Things to keep in mind

* The **Generate Google Meet Link** button only appears when your own Google Calendar is connected.
* The link is written into the **location** field — you can edit or replace it like any other location text.
* As with other details, the change is staged until you click **Save**.

## FAQs

**Why can't I see the Generate Google Meet Link button?**
It only shows when your Google Calendar is connected. See *How to connect Google Calendar*.

**Where does the link end up?**
In the Event's **location** field, so attendees can join from there.

**Whose Google account is used?**
Your own connected Google account is used to generate the link.

## Who can do this

**Owners**, **Admins**, **Managers**, **Content Managers** and **Instructors** can edit an Event and generate a Meet link, provided their own Google Calendar is connected. **People Managers**, **Employees** and **Restricted** users cannot edit Events. Connecting Google Calendar is done per user on your own profile — see *How to connect Google Calendar*.
