## Overview

A magic link is a one-time login link SuperPath emails to you, so you can sign in without typing a password. It is a form of passwordless sign-in that lets you access the platform quickly and securely.

## How to log in with a magic link

1. On the sign-in page, enter your email address, then click **Email me a login link**.

2. You will see a confirmation that a login link has been emailed to your address.

3. Open the email. It contains your magic link along with details of the request, such as the device it was requested from and the IP address.

4. Click **Sign in to SuperPath** to be signed in automatically.

> **Note:** A magic link is single-use and time-limited for your security. If it expires or you have already used it, simply request a new one from the sign-in page.

## Things to keep in mind

* The magic link only works from the account it was requested for, and it can only be used once.
* The email is sent to the address you entered. If it does not arrive, check your spam or junk folder and confirm you entered the correct email.
* The email shows the device and IP address that requested the link, so you can confirm the request came from you before signing in.

## FAQs

**The email hasn't arrived — what should I do?**
Check your spam or junk folder first, and make sure you entered the correct email address. If it still hasn't arrived, request another link from the sign-in page.

**My magic link isn't working — why?**
Magic links are single-use and expire after a short time. If yours has expired or already been used, request a fresh one from the sign-in page.

**Do I need a password to use a magic link?**
No. A magic link signs you in without a password — that is the point of it.

## Who can do this

Any user whose account is set up to sign in with a magic link can use this method. If magic-link sign-in is not enabled for your account, use the sign-in method configured for you instead — a password, Google, Microsoft or your organisation's single sign-on.
