# How to Restrict an Event to Specific Teams

## Overview

When an Event is available in the Library, everyone can see it by default. Restricting it to specific Teams lets you make a Library Event visible only to the people in those Teams — handy when an Event is relevant to some parts of your organisation but not others.

## Restricting an event to specific teams

1. Go to **Events** in the left-hand menu and open the Event you want to restrict.
2. Make sure the **Available in Library?** toggle at the top is on — the Team restriction control only appears once the Event is available in the Library.

3. In the **Select restricted teams** control, marked with the people icon, choose the Teams that should be able to see this Event.

4. Click **Save** in the unsaved-changes bar at the top of the page to store your changes.

## Things to keep in mind

* The **Select restricted teams** control only appears when the Event is available in the Library. If you turn library availability off, any Team restrictions are cleared.
* Leave the control empty to make the Event visible to everyone in the Library.
* Only standard Teams can be selected — Dynamic Teams are not available in this list.

## FAQs

**Why can't I see the restricted teams option?**
It only appears once the Event is available in the Library. Turn on the **Available in Library?** toggle first.

**Can I restrict to a Dynamic Team?**
No. Only standard Teams can be selected as restricted Teams for an Event.

**What happens if I leave it empty?**
The Event stays visible to everyone in the Library.

## Who can do this

**Owners**, **Admins**, **Managers**, **Content Managers** and **Instructors** can edit Events and restrict them to Teams. **People Managers**, **Employees** and **Restricted** users have read-only access to Events and cannot.
