## Overview
A Roadmap shows you what growing in your role looks like — the competencies expected of you, the behaviours to demonstrate, and any learning attached to your current level. When someone assigns you a Roadmap you are told about it straight away, and you can come back to it at any time from your own profile.

## How to open your Roadmap from the notification
1. Log in to SuperPath.
2. When a Roadmap is assigned to you, a notification appears against the bell icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

3. Open the notifications list and you'll see that someone has assigned you a new learning Roadmap, along with the name of the level you have been placed on.
4. Click the notification and SuperPath takes you straight to that Roadmap level.

> **Good to know:** Depending on how your organisation has set up notifications you may also receive the same news by email or in Slack.

## How to find your Roadmap from your profile
1. Click your avatar in the top-right corner and choose **My Profile**.

2. Click the **Roadmaps** tab.

3. The tab lists every Roadmap level you have been assigned, showing the **Level**, the **Roadmap** it belongs to, its **Status**, the date it was **Assigned** and the date it was **Completed**. Use the **Search roadmaps...** box if you have several.
4. Click a **Level** or **Roadmap** name to open it.

## What you'll see on your Roadmap level
Opening a level gives you the detail for that stage of the Roadmap:

* The level title, with arrows to move to the **previous** and **next** levels so you can see what's ahead.
* A **Summary** of the level, plus **Started on** and — once you finish — **Completed on** dates.
* A column for each competency, listing its description, the **Key skills** and **Technical skills** expected, the **Behaviours** to demonstrate, and any **Learnings** attached. Learning you have already completed is marked with a green tick.
* An **Assessments** section holding any self-assessments you have submitted and any assessments your Manager or Admin has added.
* A **Submit Self-assessment** button while the level is your current, in-progress one — see *How to Submit a Self-Assessment on Your Roadmap*.

## Things to keep in mind
* You can only have **one Roadmap level in progress at a time**. When you are moved to a new level, the level you were on is marked complete.
* Completed levels stay on your **Roadmaps** tab, so the tab builds up a history of your progression rather than showing only the current level.
* Only the person who assigned the Roadmap, your Manager, or an Admin can move you to the next level or mark your level complete.
* You'll only see the **Roadmaps** tab if Roadmaps are switched on for your organisation and available to your role.

## FAQs
**I've been told I have a Roadmap but I can't see a Roadmaps tab.**
Roadmaps may not be enabled for your organisation, or access may be limited to Managers or Admins. Ask your Admin to check.

**Can I see the levels above the one I'm on?**
Yes. Use the next and previous arrows at the top of a level to look ahead at what later levels expect, and back at levels you have completed.

**Can I mark my own level as complete?**
No. Completing a level is done by your Manager, an Admin or the Owner. What you can do is submit a self-assessment against your current level.

**Do I have to do the learning attached to my level?**
Where a competency has learning attached and auto-assign is switched on, that learning is assigned to you as well and will appear in your learning alongside the Roadmap.

## Who can do this
Viewing your own Roadmap is available to **any role** — every user can read their own Roadmap level records, so **Owners**, **Admins**, **Managers**, **Content Managers**, **People Managers**, **Instructors**, **Employees** and **Restricted** users can all see a Roadmap that has been assigned to them. Two conditions apply: Roadmaps must be enabled for your organisation, and your organisation's Roadmaps access level must include your role (it is open to everyone by default). Viewing *other* people's Roadmaps is a separate, more restricted action — see *How to View Learners on a Roadmap*.
