Higher Logic Data Sync

Introduction



The Higher Logic Integration is a great way to keep your SuperPath and Higher Logic accounts in sync. The integration will automatically invite new members from Higher Logic and keep member contact details in sync. It will also push completed learnings, badges and certificates back to the Higher Logic external activity feed.

This setup requires Higher Logic admin and SuperPath admin access.

The integration process requires 4 steps:

Create Higher Logic activity types
Create a IAM Key
Configure SuperPath
Setup Activity Sync (Webhooks) in Higher Logic



Step 1: Create Higher Logic Activity Types



Navigate to Admin → Settings → External Content → External Activity

At the bottom of the page you will see a list of activity types.

For each of the rows in the table below, click the Add Button and enter the details from each row including Name, Plural Name, Legacy Key and ensure the View Permissions is set to Authenticated

For each of the Additional Fields below click the Add button on the “Additional Display Data Configuration” and follow the prompts to add a new field for each listed. The data type is displayed in brackets below

Step 2: Create IAM Key in Higher Logic



In this step you will need to generate the credentials to be given to SuperPath to enable the integration.

Navigate to Admin → Settings → External Content → External Activity

In the top section IAM Key. Click the Add New Key button and click the Generate button.

Copy the IAM Key and Password to be used in SuperPath

Step 3: Configure SuperPath



Navigate to SuperPath Settings - Integrations

Hover over the HigherLogic integration box and click “View Details”
Click “Connect Higher Logic”
Enter your Company Domain
if your higher logic URL https://acme-company.connectedcommunity.org/ then your company domain is “acme-company”
Enter the IAM Key and Password (from step 2)
Select your configuration options and click Connect Higher Logic to save
Note: The option of keeping users records in sync and auto create users will require Step 4 to be setup correctly.

Step 4: Setup Activity Sync



This step is only required if you would like to configure your user records to be kept in sync with Higher Logic. This is recommended for the best integration experience.

Before you start you will need to navigate back to the SuperPath integration settings. Click on the Higher Logic Integration and in the help text of the first two options you will be able to copy the SuperPath webhook URL - which will look something like this:

https://api.superpath.io/public/integrations/webhooks/abc123/higherlogic

Navigate to Admin → Settings → External Content → Activity Sync

In the Endpoints list click the “Create” button and enter the following details

Name: enter “SuperPath Sync”

Provider Type: select “Web Activity POST”

Activity Subscriptions: Select the following

Create Contact

Update Contact

Delete Contact

Deactivate Contact

URL: enter the url copied from SuperPath (similiar above)

Click Save.

Your SuperPath Higher Logic integration is now completed
