How to connect and configure Deputy


The SuperPath Deputy integration is a great way to connect your Deputy system to SuperPath to keep your people and teams in sync, had have the employee training record sync back into Deputy



What do you need to configure the Deputy integration?


The following is needed to configure the Deputy integration:


  • user MUST be an Admin in SuperPath
  • user MUST be an Admin in Deputy
  • Company Domain - The company domain used to access Deputy. If you access Deputy at https://{customer}.{geo}.deputy.com, then the company domain is 'customer'
  • Company Region - The company region used to access Deputy. If you access Deputy at https://{customer}.{geo}.deputy.com, then the company region is 'geo'. This will be au, eu, uk or us


What actions can the Deputy integration perform?


The Deputy integration can be configured to perform the following actions. Each of these actions can be turned off or on depending how you would like to configure your integration.


Keep your people record in sync

Keep employee records in sync. When you update an employee in Deputy it will update the employee details in SuperPath. This includes name, team and manager


User Creation Options

SuperPath offers 4 options for how to create users when connecting a HRIS platform

  • Manual - In this option users will NOT be created and will have to be created or invited manually. Once added the user records will be kept in sync through updates from Deputy
  • Invite Users - In this option users will be invited to the platform when triggered from Deputy. Users will only appear in SuperPath once they have accepted their invite. This is the option to use when wanting to use Google or MSFT SSO options
  • Create with Password - In this option the user will be created in SuperPath with a password. The user will not be notified. You can send a welcome email using the Send Welcome button in the People list which will send them their password. Alternatively they can use the forgotten password flow.
  • Create with Magic Link - In this option the user will be created in SuperPath with a magic link. The user will not be notified. You can send a welcome email using the Send Welcome button in the People list. This user will be able to access SuperPath using a magic link - https://help.superpath.io/en/article/how-to-login-using-magic-link-1ghozvh/


Only Sync Primary Workplace

You also have the option to ONLY sync the primary workplace. If not selected, SuperPath will add user to a team for each workplace that are allocated in Deputy


Use Preferred Name

This option allows you to override their first name in SuperPath with their preferred name in Deputy


Employee ID Custom Field (F01 to F128)

In some cases you may be using another unique identifier for your employees. This is normally stored in a Deputy Custom Field. This option allows you to use your own custom identifier for the Employee Record


Teams Sync
  • Use Deputy company’s and locations as teams - The company name and location will be used as the employee's team(s) in SuperPath


Add completed learnings to the employee record
  • Add completed learning pathways to the employee training record - When a person completes a learning pathway it will added to the employee training record in Deputy
  • Add completed content to the employee training record - When a person completes assigned learning content it will added to the employee training record in Deputy
  • Add certificates to the employee training record - When a person earns a certificate it will added to the employee training record in Deputy


Additional actions


You can also perform the additional actions:


  • Sync Teams - Sync all Company locations from Deputy into SuperPath Teams
  • Trigger Full Sync - Sync all employee records from Deputy into SuperPath. This process will invite new Deputy employees to SuperPath, update existing users in SuperPath
