Overview

The Partner Portal lets you, as a reseller or parent organisation, spin up and manage separate customer accounts from one place. Creating a new account takes a single field — the customer's organisation name — because everything else is inherited from your Partner Settings. This means each new account starts already configured with your chosen platform name, branding, features and defaults, ready for you to fine-tune per customer afterwards. For a general tour of the Partner Portal, see the Welcome to the Partner Portal overview.

How to create a customer account

  1. Go to Partner Portal → Accounts.
  2. Click Create New Account in the top-right of the page.
  3. A Create New Account modal opens, explaining: "An account will be created using your partner settings. These settings can be changed individually on each account if required."
  4. In the Organisation field, enter the customer's organisation name.
  5. Click Create Account (or Cancel to close without creating).

On success you'll see a confirmation message — "A new account was successfully created for {organisation}" — and you'll be taken straight to that account's detail page, where you can adjust its settings, add users and manage its subscription details.

Good to know: The organisation name is the only thing you set at creation. You don't choose a plan, an administrator, a region or a seat count here — those are governed by your Partner Settings defaults and adjusted per account later.

Things to keep in mind

  • New accounts inherit your Partner Settings — the platform name, timezone, language, branding and theme, enabled features and gamification defaults all come from your Partner Settings at the moment of creation. Configure those first so every new account starts the way you want (see "How to Configure Your Partner Settings").
  • After an account exists, you can log into it and customise any of its settings individually — inheriting the defaults doesn't lock the account to them.
  • You can't pick a plan or seat count during creation. Plan changes are handled with SuperPath directly (see "How to Edit a Customer's Subscription Details").

FAQs

Can I choose a different plan for a new account when I create it?
No. The Organisation field is the only input at creation, and the account inherits its plan and other defaults from your Partner Settings. Plan and seat changes are arranged with SuperPath directly.

Where do the new account's branding and features come from?
From your Partner Settings, which act as the template for every account you create. Update your Partner Settings before creating accounts so the defaults are right, then customise per account if a specific customer needs something different.

Can I add my customer's own users straight away?
Yes — once the account exists you can add existing people from your master Partner account on the account's detail page (see "How to Add a User to a Customer Account"), or invite brand-new people from inside the account itself.

Who can do this

Creating customer accounts is a Partner Portal action, available to administrators of a Partner account — typically the Owners and Admins of the partner organisation. The Partner Portal is only visible within a Partner account (regular customer accounts don't see it) and is hidden from Restricted users. If you can't see Partner Portal → Accounts in your sidebar, your account isn't a Partner account or your role doesn't have access.
