Overview

Partner Portal → Content is your Partner content library — the private library items you own as a partner. From here you can create content, mark items as available to your customers, and push copies of content down into your customer accounts. There are two distinct mechanisms to understand: making content available to customers (so it can be granted to accounts), and syncing content (which copies it into the libraries of the accounts you choose). This article covers both.

How to add content to your Partner library

  1. Go to Partner Portal → Content. The header shows a count of your private library items.
  2. Click Add Content to open the content creation drawer.
  3. Create the content using the same content-creation flow as the main Library.

The table lists your items with columns for Title, Type, Source, Category, Available to Customers (Yes/No) and Modified, plus per-row actions (a sync button, Open in Library, edit and delete).

How to make content available to customers

Making content available to customers is done in bulk from the content table.

  1. On Partner Portal → Content, tick the checkbox on each item you want to update.
  2. Click Edit N private library items in the toolbar to open the bulk-edit modal.
  3. Turn on Is Available for Purchase (for your customers) — the toggle reads Is Available when on and Is Private when off.
  4. Optionally set the Category and the Restricted to admins toggle in the same modal.
  5. Click Update N private library items to save.

Note: The wording differs slightly between the two places: the table column reads Available to Customers, while the bulk-edit toggle says Is Available for Purchase. They control the same thing — whether an item can be granted to your customer accounts.

Once an item is available to customers, it can be granted to individual accounts via the Paid Content action on that account's detail page (see "How to Edit a Customer's Subscription Details").

How to sync content down to customer accounts

Syncing pushes a copy of an item into the libraries of the customer accounts you select. The sync button appears on a row only once that item is available to customers.

  1. On Partner Portal → Content, find a row that's marked available to customers.
  2. Click the Sync content to sub accounts button (the sync icon) in that row.
  3. The "Sync {type} to sub accounts" modal opens, explaining: "This will sync the {type} to the selected accounts. This will not affect the original {type} in the main account. To sync all leave the accounts blank."
  4. Choose the target accounts, or leave the selection blank to sync to all of them.
  5. Click Sync.

Syncing runs in the background: you'll see "Syncing … This may take a few minutes and you will be notified when it is complete", with a reminder to "Please do not close this page" while it runs.

Things to keep in mind

  • Available vs sync are two different things. Marking an item Available to Customers makes it grantable to accounts (via Paid Content); Sync actually copies the item into the selected accounts' libraries. You typically make an item available first, which is also what surfaces its sync button.
  • Syncing copies the content. It doesn't affect the original item in your Partner library — the accounts receive their own copy.
  • Leaving the account selection blank syncs to all accounts. Select specific accounts if you only want some of them to receive the content.
  • Syncing runs in the background and can take a few minutes; keep the page open until it finishes.

FAQs

What's the difference between making content "available to customers" and syncing it?
Making an item available (via the bulk-edit Is Available for Purchase toggle) lets it be granted to accounts through the Paid Content action. Syncing copies the item straight into the libraries of the accounts you choose. They're separate steps for separate purposes.

Why can't I see a sync button on some rows?
The Sync content to sub accounts button only appears on items that are marked available to customers. Make the item available first, then the sync button will show in its row.

Why does the column say "Available to Customers" but the toggle says "Available for Purchase"?
It's just different wording for the same setting — both control whether the item can be granted to your customer accounts.

Does syncing change the original content in my Partner library?
No. Syncing creates a copy in the selected accounts and doesn't affect the original in your main account.

Who can do this

Managing the Partner content library is a Partner Portal action, available to administrators of a Partner account — typically the Owners and Admins of the partner organisation. The Partner Portal is only visible within a Partner account (regular customer accounts don't see it) and is hidden from Restricted users. If you can't see Partner Portal → Content in your sidebar, your account isn't a Partner account or your role doesn't have access.
