Overview
By default, the emails SuperPath sends to people in your customer accounts come from SuperPath's no-reply address. As a partner, you can have them sent from an address on your own domain instead, for example learning@yourcompany.com, so every email your customers' people receive carries your brand.
The sender is set once for your whole partner account. It applies to every customer account you manage, including the ones you already have.
What changes for the people receiving emails
Once your sender is active:
- From address: emails come from your address, for example
learning@yourcompany.com. - From name: the name shown next to it is the customer account's platform name, or your partner platform name if the account has none.
- Replies: the Reply-To is set to the customer account's support email, or your partner support email if the account has none. So when someone replies, the reply goes to a real inbox rather than to a no-reply address.
- Content: nothing else changes. The emails look the same and contain the same links as before.
This covers the emails SuperPath sends for your customer accounts, such as invitations, sign-in and password reset emails, learning notifications, reminders, digests and scheduled reports.
How to set it up
Sending from your own domain needs your domain to be verified with SuperPath's email provider, so SuperPath sets it up for you.
- Contact SuperPath support with the address you want emails to come from.
- SuperPath gives you the DNS records to add to your domain, so email providers can confirm that SuperPath is allowed to send on your behalf.
- Once your domain is verified, SuperPath switches your sender on.
Tip: Make sure the support email in your Partner Settings (and in each customer account, where it differs) is an inbox someone reads, because that is where replies will go.
How to check whether it is on
Go to Partner Portal → Settings, open the Developer tab and look at Email sender in the Managed by SuperPath card. It shows your address with an Active badge when emails are being sent from it, or Off when they still come from the default address.
Things to keep in mind
- The sender applies to all of your customer accounts at once. You cannot have different sender addresses for different accounts.
- If your domain's verification stops working (for example after a DNS change), emails are not lost: SuperPath sends them from its default no-reply address instead, with the same From name, until the problem is fixed.
- The support email must be a valid email address to be used as the Reply-To. If neither the account nor your partner account has one, emails have no Reply-To.
- A small number of emails that are not tied to one of your customer accounts may still come from SuperPath's default address.
FAQs
Do my existing customer accounts get the new sender too?
Yes. It applies to every account you manage as soon as it is switched on, not only to new ones.
Can I change the address later?
Yes. Contact SuperPath support. A new domain has to be verified again before it can be used.
Will my customers' people see SuperPath anywhere?
Not in the From line. They see your address and their account's platform name.
Where do replies go?
To the customer account's support email, or to your partner support email if the account does not have one.
Who can do this
The email sender is set up by SuperPath support for your partner account. Owners and Admins of the Partner account can see its status on the Developer tab of the Partner Settings.
