Overview

Hiding a category keeps it out of your Library without deleting it. This is the tidy way to remove categories you do not use — including SuperPath's built-in ones — from what your learners see, while keeping everything in place so you can bring it back at any time. Showing a hidden category simply reverses this and puts it back into the Library.

Use it to curate which categories appear in your Library, rather than deleting categories you might want later.

How to hide a category

1. Go to Settings → Library and scroll to the Manage Categories section.
2. Find the category you want to hide and click the eye icon in its row. Its tooltip reads Hide Category in Library?.

3. A confirmation window titled Hide Category in Library? appears. If the category has sub categories or topics, it warns that This will also hide all of its associated sub categories and topics.
4. Click Hide to confirm.

How to show a hidden category

1. In the same Manage Categories list, find the hidden category — it shows an eye-slash icon.
2. Click the eye-slash icon. Its tooltip reads Show Category in Library?.
3. In the confirmation window, click Show to make the category visible again.

Things to keep in mind

• Hiding a category does not delete it, and does not remove any content. The category and its content stay in your account — the category simply no longer appears in the Library.
• Hiding a category also hides its sub categories and topics.
• You can hide and show both your own custom categories and SuperPath's built-in categories.
• Showing a category is the exact reverse of hiding it — the category returns to the Library.

FAQs

What is the difference between hiding and deleting a category?
Hiding keeps the category and its content in your account but removes the category from the Library view; you can show it again at any time. Deleting removes the category (and its sub categories and topics) permanently, though the content itself is kept.

Does hiding a category remove its content?
No. Hiding only affects whether the category appears in the Library. The content stays in your account.

Can I hide the built-in SuperPath categories?
Yes. You can hide and show both built-in and custom categories from the Manage Categories list.

Who can do this

Owners and Admins can hide and show categories. Managers, Content Managers, People Managers, Instructors, Employees and Restricted users cannot — hiding and showing categories requires access to Settings and the permission to update your account's settings, which only Owners and Admins have.
