Overview
The Library is where your learners browse and discover learning for themselves. Turning on Available in Library for a Pathway makes it discoverable there — "This will allow this pathway to be discoverable in the Library for your Organisation" — so people can find and self-assign it rather than waiting to be assigned.
Make a Pathway available in the Library
- Go to Pathways and open the Pathway you want to publish to the Library.
- In the pathway header, click the Settings (cog) icon to open the Pathway settings panel.
- Turn on the Available in Library switch.
- The change saves automatically.

Add a Library image
When Available in Library is on, a Library image picker appears. This is the image shown on the Pathway's card in the Library. It uses a 16:9 ratio and, if you leave it empty, falls back to the Pathway's cover image.
- Under Library image, upload or choose an image.
- It saves automatically and is used on the Library result card.
Good to know: Once a Pathway is available in the Library, you can also restrict who sees it and require approval when learners self-assign it. See How to Restrict a Library Pathway to Specific Teams and How to Require Approval When Learners Self-Assign a Pathway.
Things to keep in mind
- Turning Available in Library off again clears the Library image and hides the related self-assign approval and restricted-team options.
- A Pathway generally needs to be Published before learners can act on it in the Library.
- The Library image is optional — without one, the Pathway's cover image is used on its Library card.
FAQs
What does "Available in Library" actually do?
It makes the Pathway discoverable in your organisation's Library, so learners can find and self-assign it.
Do I have to add a Library image?
No. If you leave it empty, the Pathway's cover image is used instead.
Can I control who sees it in the Library?
Yes — you can restrict a Library Pathway to specific Teams and require approval for self-assignment. Both options appear once the Pathway is available in the Library.
Who can do this
