Overview
The order of steps in a Pathway is the order learners work through them, so getting the sequence right matters. SuperPath lets you reorder steps and whole sections by dragging them, or — if you prefer precise control — by switching on the arrange controls and using move buttons.

Reorder by dragging
- Open your Pathway in the builder and find the step or section in the left steps panel.
- Hover over the row — a drag handle appears (the grip-lines icon on a step, the bars icon on a section header).
- Drag the step to its new position and release. Drop a step under a section header to move it into that section, or between sections to move it out.
- To reorder a whole section, drag it by its section header — its steps move with it.
Your new order saves automatically.
Reorder with the arrange controls
If dragging is fiddly, use the move buttons instead:
- In the steps panel, click the Arrange Steps button (the expand-arrows icon on the Pathway Overview item at the top).
- Each step and section now shows an expand-arrows menu. Open it to move that item:
- Move to top / Move up / Move down / Move to bottom.
- For a step inside a section, you'll also see Move above section and Move below section to lift it out of the section.
- Click Arrange Steps again to switch the controls off.

Things to keep in mind
- Reordering steps returns a published Pathway to a draft (unpublished) state, so remember to publish again once the order is right.
- Moving a section moves all of its steps with it.
- When you drag a step into a section that already contains the same content, SuperPath blocks the duplicate and keeps the step where it was.
FAQs
Does reordering change anything for learners already assigned?
Reordering unpublishes the Pathway; the new order takes effect for learners once you publish the updated version.
Can I move a step out of a section?
Yes. Drag it out from under the section header, or use Move above section / Move below section in the arrange controls.
Is there an undo?
There's no dedicated undo — simply drag or move the item back to its previous position.
Who can do this
Owners, Admins, Managers, Content Managers and Instructors can reorder steps and sections in a Pathway. People Managers, Employees, Members, Volunteers and Restricted users have read-only access to Pathways and cannot.
