How to Bulk Add People to a Team

Overview

When you need to move a group of people into the same Team — a new department, a cohort, or everyone assigned a particular programme — you can add them all in one step from the People list instead of editing each profile. This adds the selected people to the Team you choose without removing them from any Teams they're already in.

How to bulk add people to a Team

1. Go to People.
2. Tick the checkbox beside each person you want to add. To select everyone that matches your current search or filters, use the select-all option at the top of the list.
3. Click the Bulk Actions button in the toolbar.
4. Choose Add Users to Team from the dropdown.
5. In the Bulk Add Users to Team window, choose the Team from the dropdown.
6. Click Confirm Add to Team.

The selected people are added to the Team, and you'll see a confirmation once it's done.

Tip: You can search the Team dropdown by name — handy when you have a deep Team hierarchy.

Things to keep in mind

• Adding people to a Team is additive — it doesn't remove them from any Teams they already belong to.
• You can only add to one Team per bulk action. Repeat the steps to add the same people to another Team.
• Anyone already in the chosen Team is simply skipped, so it's safe to run over a mixed selection.
• Bulk selection and bulk actions are only available to Owners and Admins — other roles don't see the row checkboxes.

FAQs

Does this remove people from their current Teams?
No. It only adds the selected people to the Team you choose; their existing Team memberships are unchanged.

Can I add people to more than one Team at once?
Not in a single action — you choose one Team per bulk add. Run the action again for each additional Team.

What happens if some of the people are already in that Team?
They're left as they are. Only people who aren't already members are added.

Who can do this

Owners and Admins can bulk add people to a Team — the row checkboxes that drive bulk actions only appear for these roles. Managers, People Managers, Content Managers, Instructors, Employees and Restricted users cannot use bulk actions on the People list.
