Overview

If several people no longer need to be on your platform and you don't need to keep their records, you can delete them together from the People list. Deleting is permanent and removes each person along with all of their learning data, so it's worth being sure before you confirm. If you only want to stop people signing in while keeping their history, deactivate them instead.

How to bulk delete people

1. Go to People.
2. Tick the checkbox beside each person you want to delete. To select everyone that matches your current search or filters, use the select-all option at the top of the list.
3. Click the Bulk Actions button in the toolbar.
4. Choose Delete Users from the dropdown.
5. In the Bulk Delete Users window, read the warning carefully — deleting removes each person from all teams and deletes all of their learnings, badges, certificates, roadmaps and CPD points, and this can't be undone.
6. Click Confirm delete.

Each person is deleted in turn, and the list refreshes once the operation finishes.

Note: If a person no longer needs access but you'd like to retain their data, disable their access instead of deleting them.

Things to keep in mind

• Deleting is not reversible. Each deleted person is removed from all teams and loses all of their learnings, badges, certificates, roadmaps and CPD points.
• If you need to keep a record of someone's learning history, use Disable Users rather than Delete Users — disabling blocks sign-in but keeps the data.
• Bulk delete processes people one at a time, so an individual person can fail (for example, if they can't be removed) while the rest succeed.
• Bulk selection and bulk actions are only available to Owners and Admins — other roles don't see the row checkboxes.

FAQs

Can I recover someone I've deleted?
No. Deleting a person is permanent and removes their learning records. If you might need the data later, disable the person instead.

What happens to a deleted person's certificates and progress?
They are deleted. Deleting removes the person from all teams and deletes their learnings, badges, certificates, roadmaps and CPD points.

Should I delete or disable someone who has left?
If you may need their history, disable them — their data is retained and they simply can't sign in. Delete only when you're certain the person and their records should be removed for good.

Who can do this

Owners and Admins can bulk delete people — the row checkboxes that drive bulk actions only appear for these roles. Managers, People Managers, Content Managers, Instructors, Employees and Restricted users cannot use bulk actions on the People list.
