Overview

Once you've connected SAML single sign-on, the Custom SSO section on the Security settings tab is where you manage it. From here you can update the connection details yourself, and start a deletion (which SuperPath handles with you). This article covers editing and deleting an existing configuration — to set SAML up in the first place, see How to connect SAML SSO.

How to edit your SAML configuration

  1. Go to Settings → Security.
  2. Scroll to the Custom SSO section, then click Edit SSO SAML.
  3. The SAML setup panel opens, pre-filled with your current details. Update the fields you need to change — for example the SSO URL, certificate, entity ID or service provider entity ID.
  4. Save the panel to apply your changes.

Your updated details are written to the identity provider configuration straight away. Your people keep using the same connection — they don't need to reconnect after an edit.

How to delete your SAML configuration

Deleting a SAML configuration isn't a self-service action, because it also involves migrating your people off SSO and back to another sign-in method safely.

  1. Go to Settings → Security.
  2. In the Custom SSO section, click Delete SSO SAML.
  3. A dialog explains that to delete your Custom SSO configuration you should contact SuperPath Support, who will organise the deletion and the migration of your users.
  4. Reach out to SuperPath Support to arrange it — they'll coordinate the change with you.

Things to keep in mind

  • The Custom SSO section only appears once custom authentication is enabled for your account and a SAML provider has been configured.
  • Editing updates the connection in place — your people continue signing in with the same SSO, so there's no need for them to reconnect.
  • Delete SSO SAML does not remove the configuration by itself. It shows guidance to contact SuperPath Support, who handle the deletion and user migration together so nobody is locked out.

FAQs

Will editing my SAML details lock anyone out?
Editing updates the existing configuration in place, so your people keep using the same connection. Take care to enter valid identity-provider details, as incorrect values can prevent sign-in.

Why can't I just delete the SAML configuration myself?
Deleting SSO also means moving your people back to another sign-in method. To avoid anyone being locked out, SuperPath handles deletion and user migration with you — click Delete SSO SAML and contact Support as the dialog explains.

How do I set up SAML in the first place?
See How to connect SAML SSO. This article is only for editing or deleting an existing configuration.

Who can do this

Only Owners (and Super Admins) can edit or start deleting a SAML configuration — the Security settings tab and the SAML actions are restricted to Owners. Admins, Managers, Content Managers, People Managers, Instructors, Employees and Restricted users cannot.
