Overview
The Dashboard Banner is a customisable panel that appears at the top of the Dashboard for all of your users. Use it to welcome learners, highlight a message or campaign, and point them somewhere useful with a call-to-action button. You can style it with your own colours or a background image so it aligns with your organisation's branding.
You'll find the Dashboard Banner alongside your other branding options on the Theme settings tab.
How to update the Dashboard Banner
- Go to Settings → Theme.
- Scroll to the Dashboard Banner section.
- Turn on Show a custom banner on the dashboard for all users.
- Enter a Banner Title and, if you'd like, a Banner Message.
- To add a call-to-action, fill in the Button Label and the Button URL (the link the button opens).
- Set your colours using the colour pickers — Background Colour and Text Colour for the banner, plus Button Colour and Button Text Colour for the button. Choose a preset swatch, or type a HEX code.
- Click Save on the bar at the top of the screen (or Discard to undo your changes).
- Open the Dashboard to see your banner at the top of the page.

Adding a banner image
Instead of (or as well as) a background colour, you can display an image in the banner.
- In the Dashboard Banner section, click the Banner Image picker.
- Choose to upload your own image, search Unsplash, or pick an image from your Image Library.
- If uploading, select the file from your computer.
- Click Save.
Your title, message and button will still appear over the image on the Dashboard.

Note: For the best result, use a banner image around 250px tall. The image expands to the width of the page and is anchored to the top-left. PNG and GIF files are supported.
Things to keep in mind
- The Dashboard Banner appears for all users, so keep the message relevant to everyone.
- A banner must have either an image, or a background colour with a title — an empty banner won't display.
- Custom branding, including the Dashboard Banner, is only available on paid accounts. If you don't see the Theme options, your account will show a message about upgrading.
- Changes only take effect once you click Save on the top bar.
FAQs
Who sees the Dashboard Banner?
Every user who has access to the Dashboard sees the same banner — it isn't targeted to specific teams or roles.
Can I link the button anywhere?
Yes. Enter any URL in the Button URL field, such as your company website or a specific piece of learning.
Why isn't my banner showing?
Make sure the toggle is on, that you've either added a background colour with a title or a banner image, and that you've clicked Save.
Who can do this
Owners and Admins can update the Dashboard Banner. Managers, Content Managers, People Managers, Instructors, Employees and Restricted users cannot — the Settings area is restricted to Owners and Admins. Custom branding is also a paid-account feature, so the Theme options only appear where it has been enabled.
