Overview
Access expiry lets administrators set an expiry date on user accounts. When a user's expiry date is reached, their account is automatically disabled. This is useful for contractors, temporary staff or any access that should end on a known date. The setting lives in the People section of your feature settings.
How to enable access expiry
- Go to Settings → Features.
- Find the People section.
- Turn on Enable access expiry dates on your account.
- An Unsaved changes bar appears at the top of the screen. Click Save to apply your change.

Once enabled, administrators can set an expiry date on individual user accounts.
Things to keep in mind
- When a user's expiry date passes, their account is automatically disabled.
- Enabling the feature only makes the expiry-date option available — you still set the actual dates on each user account.
- After turning the switch on, click Save in the Unsaved changes bar for the change to take effect.
FAQs
What happens when a user's access expires?
Their account is automatically disabled once the expiry date is reached.
Does turning this on immediately disable anyone?
No. It only makes the expiry-date option available. Accounts are disabled only when an expiry date you have set actually passes.
Who can do this
Only Owners and Admins can change feature settings. The Settings area is restricted to these two roles, and saving a change to Features requires the tenant-settings update permission, which only Owners and Admins hold. Managers, Content Managers, People Managers, Instructors, Employees and Restricted users cannot open Settings or change this toggle.
