Overview

The Dashboard is the landing page users see when they log in. From the Dashboard section of your feature settings you can turn the Dashboard on or off for all users, and — when it is on — control the social feed and Dashboard announcements. This article covers enabling or disabling the Dashboard itself and managing announcements; the social feed has its own article, How to Enable the Social Feed.

How to enable or disable the Dashboard

  1. Go to Settings → Features.
  2. Find the Dashboard section.
  3. Turn Enable dashboard for all users on or off.
  4. An Unsaved changes bar appears at the top of the screen. Click Save to apply your change.

When the Dashboard is disabled, users are directed to My Learning on login instead of the Dashboard.

Dashboard announcements

When the Dashboard is enabled, an Enable Dashboard Announcements toggle appears. Turn it on to show announcements to users on the Dashboard. Once it is on, a Manage announcements option appears with a Manage Announcements button, where you can create and manage the announcements shown to users.

Things to keep in mind

  • Disabling the Dashboard sends every user to My Learning on login.
  • The social feed and Dashboard announcements only appear as options while the Dashboard is enabled.
  • After changing any switch, click Save in the Unsaved changes bar for it to take effect.

FAQs

What do users see if I disable the Dashboard?
They are directed to My Learning when they log in, rather than the Dashboard.

How do I show announcements on the Dashboard?
With the Dashboard enabled, turn on Enable Dashboard Announcements, then use Manage Announcements to create and manage them.

Who can do this

Only Owners and Admins can change feature settings. The Settings area is restricted to these two roles, and saving a change to Features requires the tenant-settings update permission, which only Owners and Admins hold. Managers, Content Managers, People Managers, Instructors, Employees and Restricted users cannot open Settings or change these toggles.
