Overview

The social feed is the activity feed shown on the Dashboard. It is controlled from the Dashboard section of your feature settings, and its toggle only appears while the Dashboard itself is enabled. You can also choose to restrict the feed (and the gamification leaderboards) to information relating to each user's own Team.

How to enable the social feed

  1. Go to Settings → Features.
  2. Find the Dashboard section and make sure Enable dashboard for all users is on — the social feed option only appears when the Dashboard is enabled.
  3. Turn on Enable social feed on dashboard?.
  4. An Unsaved changes bar appears at the top of the screen. Click Save to apply your change.

Deactivating this toggle hides the social feed on the Dashboard for all users.

Restricting the feed to a user's Team

When the social feed is on, a further toggle appears: Only show team related information in the social feed and gamification leaderboards?. Turn it on to restrict the Dashboard social feed and the gamification leaderboards so they only display information relating to the user's Team. If a user belongs to more than one Team, the first Team by alphabetical order is used.

Things to keep in mind

  • The social feed toggle only appears while the Dashboard is enabled — if you don't see it, enable the Dashboard first.
  • Turning the social feed off hides it on the Dashboard for all users.
  • The team-only option affects both the social feed and the gamification leaderboards.
  • After changing any switch, click Save in the Unsaved changes bar for it to take effect.

FAQs

Why can't I see the social feed option?
It only appears when the Dashboard is enabled. Turn on Enable dashboard for all users first.

What happens for users in more than one Team when the team-only option is on?
The feed and leaderboards use the first of their Teams by alphabetical order.

Who can do this

Only Owners and Admins can change feature settings. The Settings area is restricted to these two roles, and saving a change to Features requires the tenant-settings update permission, which only Owners and Admins hold. Managers, Content Managers, People Managers, Instructors, Employees and Restricted users cannot open Settings or change these toggles.
