How to View a Person's Skills

Overview

Each person has a Skills section on their profile showing the skills they've earned or been given, along with the proficiency levels they hold. You can see your own skills on your profile, and — with the right access — see another person's skills from their profile in the People area.

View your own skills

1. Go to your Profile.
2. Scroll to the Skills section to see the skills you've earned.
3. Hover over a skill to see the levels you hold for it.

Your own Skills section is view-only — you can see your skills but not add or remove them.

View another person's skills

1. Go to People and open the person's profile.
2. Scroll to the Skills section to see the skills recorded against them.
3. Hover over a skill to see each level they hold and how many times they've earned it.

Things to keep in mind

• Each skill shows a count — how many times the person has earned it — and, where the skill has levels, a breakdown by level.
• If a person has no skills yet, the section shows a short note in place of the list.
• Viewing skills is read-only for most people; adding or removing a person's skills is a separate action limited to Owners and Admins.

FAQs

Where do I see my own skills?
On your Profile, in the Skills section. It's view-only.

What does the number next to a skill mean?
It's the count of how many times the person has earned that skill — for example from completing several learnings that share the skill.

Why can't I add or remove skills from this view?
Viewing and managing are separate. Adding or removing a person's skills is limited to Owners and Admins and is done from a person's profile in the People area.

Who can do this

Anyone can view their own skills on their Profile. Viewing another person's skills is available to the roles that can open that person's profile in the People area — typically Owners, Admins, Managers and People Managers. Adding or removing a person's skills remains limited to Owners and Admins.
