Managing Notifications
🛠️ How to Manage Notifications in SuperPath
SuperPath keeps your team connected and up to date, but sometimes, less is more. The Notification Restrictions feature gives you full control over which messages are sent to your users, across email, Slack, and in-app notifications.
With this feature, you can manage communications at both the account level and the individual user level, so you can choose exactly who receives what — and when.
đź’ˇ Why use Notification Restrictions?
In busy teams, notifications can pile up quickly. By customising which notifications are sent, you can:
- Reduce noise: Keep inboxes and Slack channels clear of unnecessary updates.
- Improve focus: Make sure users only see messages that matter to their role.
- Simplify communication management: Control everything from one central place.
- Protect learning flow: Avoid over-communication while maintaining important reminders.
✨ What you can control
Notification Restrictions apply to all key communications in SuperPath, including:
Category | Description |
---|---|

Certificate Awarded / Badge Awarded | Notifies users when they receive a new certificate or badge. |

Event Registration | Notifies admins when a user registers for an event. |
Learning Reminders | Sent to users before, on, and after learning due dates. |
Due Date Changed | Sent when a user’s learning due date is updated. |
Approval Requested / Approved / Declined | Updates for learning approval workflows. |
Learning Assigned / Completed | Notifies users and managers about assigned or completed learnings. |
Assessment Ready / Completed | Alerts for assessments requiring action or completion. |
⚙️ How to set Notification Restrictions (Account Level)
Follow these steps to manage notifications across your organisation:
- Go to Settings → Features.
- Select the Communications tab.
- You’ll see a list of all available notification types.
- Toggle off any notifications you don’t want sent to users.
- Hover over the ? icon beside each one to see what it does.
- If a notification is critical to learning flow (e.g. “Approval Requested”), you’ll see a warning message before saving changes.
- Click Save to apply your new preferences.
Once saved, these settings apply across your entire account.
👤 How to adjust Notification Restrictions for individual users
Sometimes, you might want to make exceptions for specific people, for example, a manager who receives too many completion notifications.
To do this:
- Go to People
- Select the user you’d like to update and open their profile
- Under the Setttings section, toggle off specific communication types for that person.
- It will auto Save
You can use this to completely mute a user, or just remove a few message types they don’t need.
đź”” Tips and Best Practices
- Keep approval notifications on: These are essential for maintaining learning workflows.
- Use sparingly for managers: Managers and admins often receive multiple updates — adjust carefully to avoid missed actions.
- Review settings quarterly: As your organisation grows, revisit your communication setup to ensure it still fits your needs.
