Overview

Every comment in a discussion has a reaction bar so people can respond quickly with an emoji. The Reactions emoji set setting controls exactly which emojis appear on that bar across your tenant. SuperPath ships a default set of eight — 👍 ❤️ 😂 🎉 🤔 👀 🙌 🔥 — and you can swap these for a set that suits your organisation, up to a maximum of twelve.

How to customise the emoji set

  1. Go to Settings → Features.
  2. Scroll to the Discussions section (Discussions must already be enabled).
  3. Under Reactions emoji set, click Customise emoji set.
  4. In the Customise reaction emojis dialog, remove an emoji by clicking its chip, and add one by clicking it in the Add an emoji palette below.
  5. Keep the set to between 1 and 12 emojis, then click Save in the dialog.
  6. Back on the Features page, click Save to store the change against your tenant.

Tip: The palette offers a fixed range of emojis to choose from. You cannot add an emoji that is not in the palette, and each emoji can only appear once in your set.

Things to keep in mind

  • You must keep at least 1 emoji and no more than 12 — saving an empty set, or more than twelve, is blocked with a validation message.
  • Your chosen set appears on the reaction bar of every comment across the tenant.
  • Reactions are separate from comment voting (the upvote/downvote control), which is configured by its own setting.
  • You can only pick from the emojis shown in the palette; arbitrary or custom emojis are not supported.

FAQs

How many emojis can I include?
Between 1 and 12. The default set has eight.

Can I add an emoji that isn't in the palette?
No. The set is built from the fixed palette shown in the dialog, and each emoji can be added only once.

Do changes apply to reactions people have already left?
The emoji set determines which reactions can be chosen going forward and which appear on the reaction bar. Changing the set does not delete a comment's history, but it does change the reactions offered from that point on.

Who can do this

Only Owners and Admins can reach Settings → Features and customise the reaction emoji set. Other roles cannot open Settings. Once configured, any user who can view a discussion can react to comments using the set you define.
