Overview
Made a typo or want to add something? You can edit any comment or reply you've posted. Edited comments are marked so the conversation stays honest, and your changes are visible to everyone as soon as you save.
How to edit your comment
- Find your comment or reply in the discussion.
- Click the ⋮ (more options) menu in the top-right corner of the comment.
- Choose Edit. The comment turns into an editable box with your existing text.
- Make your changes, then click Save. To back out without changing anything, click Cancel.
Things to keep in mind
- An edited comment shows an (edited) indicator next to its timestamp, so readers know it's been changed.
- You can only edit your own comments. The Edit option doesn't appear on other people's comments.
- Editing is only available while the discussion is active — once it's closed or archived, comments become read-only.
- There's no length limit change on editing: an edited comment still has to stay within the 5,000-character limit.
FAQs
Will people know I edited my comment?
Yes. An (edited) label appears beside the comment's time, but the previous version isn't shown to readers.
Can I edit someone else's comment?
No. You can only edit comments you posted yourself. Correcting or moderating other people's comments is a separate moderator action.
The Edit option is missing — why?
Either it isn't your comment, or the discussion is no longer active. Editing is only possible on your own comments while the discussion is open.
Who can do this
Anyone can edit their own comments and replies — this applies to every role: Owners, Admins, Managers, Content Managers, People Managers, Instructors, Employees and Restricted users. Editing other people's comments is a moderation action and is not covered here.
