How to View Your Discussions and the Ones You Follow

Overview

The Discussions hub has three tabs across the top — All, My Discussions and Following. They let you switch between everything in your organisation, the discussions you're involved in, and the ones you've chosen to follow.

How to view your discussions

1. Go to Discussions.
2. Click the My Discussions tab.

This shows discussions you've started or commented on. If you haven't taken part in any yet, you'll see a short prompt inviting you to join in.

How to view discussions you follow

1. Go to Discussions.
2. Click the Following tab.

This shows every discussion you're currently following. See the article on following a discussion for how to add discussions to this list.

Good to know: The tab you're on is remembered in the page address, so you can bookmark or share a link that opens straight onto My Discussions or Following.

Things to keep in mind

• Commenting on a discussion automatically starts you following it, so active discussions will tend to appear under both My Discussions and Following.
• The All tab is the default view when you open the hub.
• Category, tag, status and sort filters work on whichever tab you're viewing.

FAQs

What's the difference between My Discussions and Following?
My Discussions shows discussions you've started or commented on. Following shows discussions you've chosen to follow (commenting also follows automatically).

I visited /discussions/mine — why did the address change?
The My Discussions and Following views live on the main Discussions hub. Older links like /discussions/mine and /discussions/following simply redirect to the matching tab.

Why is my Following tab empty?
You're not following any discussions yet. Open a discussion and click Follow, or comment on one, to add it here.

Who can do this

Anyone who can access the Discussions hub can use the All, My Discussions and Following tabs — Owners, Admins, Managers, Content Managers, People Managers, Instructors, Employees and Restricted users. Each tab shows only the discussions relevant to you, with no role restriction.
