Overview
The AI Assistant home page is a full-screen place to start a question, rather than the docked panel you get from the Ask AI button. It's the better surface when you want room to think: a large input, a set of suggested questions to get you going, and your recent conversations so you can pick up where you left off.
Asking a question from the home page still answers in the docked panel — the home page is the launch pad, the panel is where the conversation happens.
How to open the home page
The home page isn't in the left-hand menu. You get to it from the AI Assistant panel:
- Click Ask AI at the top of the screen (or press ⌘ + K on a Mac, Ctrl + K on Windows) to open the panel.
- In the panel header, click the house icon (Open full page).

The panel closes and the home page opens. You can also go straight to it by browsing to /agent on your platform.
What's on the home page
A greeting. The page opens with Good morning, Good afternoon or Good evening and your first name, depending on your local time.
The question box. A large input where you type your question. Press Enter or click the arrow button to send. If you're an Owner or Admin the placeholder reads "Ask anything, @ to mention people or content...", because @-mentions are available to you; everyone else sees "Ask a question...". A single message can be up to 10,000 characters.
Suggested questions. Five starter chips sit under the box — a mix of data questions ("Who hasn't logged in recently?", "Who's at risk of falling behind?", "How's our login activity trending this month?") and how-to questions ("How do I create a workflow?", "How do I schedule a learning?"). Click one to ask it immediately.
What the AI Assistant can do. A short panel on the right summarising the three things it does — answer questions about your people, teams and learning data; explain how to do anything in the platform, with sources; and take you to the right screen — plus a reminder that it's read-only, never changes your data, and only sees what you can see.

Recent conversations
The left column lists your three most recent conversations, each showing its title, when it was last active, and how many messages it holds. Click one to reopen it in the panel with its full history, and carry on asking follow-up questions.
If you haven't asked anything yet you'll see "Your conversations will show up here."
Click View all to open the full Conversations page.
The Conversations page
The Conversations page lists everything you've asked, newest first, grouped under Today, Yesterday, Previous 7 days and Older. Each row shows the conversation title, a snippet of the last message, and a timestamp.
- Search — the box at the top filters by conversation title and by the last message, so you can find an answer you remember asking about.
- New conversation — starts a fresh thread and opens the panel.
- Paging — 15 conversations per page, with a pager at the bottom and a running count of how many matched.

Conversations are only ever your own — you can't see anyone else's, and nobody else can see yours.
Deleting a conversation
- Hover the conversation row, either in the panel's history view or on the Conversations page.
- Click the trash icon.
- Confirm when asked — the prompt warns that this can't be undone.
You can also delete the conversation you're currently in from the trash icon in the panel's composer toolbar.
Things to keep in mind
- The home page has no entry in the left-hand menu — reach it from the panel's Open full page button, or by browsing to /agent.
- Conversations are kept for 90 days and then removed automatically. The Conversations page notes this at the top right.
- Asking from the home page always opens the docked panel to stream the answer, so you'll see the page shift as the panel docks alongside it.
- The starter questions on the home page are a fixed general set. Inside the panel they change to match the page you're on — see How to Use the AI Assistant.
- The home page redirects to your dashboard if the AI Assistant isn't enabled for your account or your role can't use it.
FAQs
Why isn't the AI Assistant in my left-hand menu?
There's no menu item for it. Use the Ask AI button at the top of any screen, or the Open full page (house) icon in the panel to reach the home page.
What's the difference between the home page and the panel?
The home page is a full-screen launch pad with suggested questions and your recent conversations. The panel is where conversations actually happen, and it stays available on every screen. Asking from the home page opens the panel.
How long are my conversations kept?
90 days, then they're deleted automatically.
Can anyone else see my conversations?
No. Conversations are private to the person who had them.
Can I get back a conversation I deleted?
No. Deleting is permanent, which is why you're asked to confirm.
How many recent conversations does the home page show?
Three. Click View all for the complete list.
Who can do this
The AI Assistant home page is available to anyone whose role can use the AI Assistant, which depends on your organisation's Who can use the AI Agent setting: Admins only covers Owners and Admins, while Admins and managers also covers Managers and People Managers. Content Managers, Instructors, Employees and Restricted users cannot use the AI Assistant on either setting, and the home page redirects them to their dashboard. @-mentions in the question box are available to Owners and Admins only. Turning the AI Assistant on and choosing the access level is done in Settings → Features by an Owner or Admin — see Managing AI Features.
