Overview

The Certificate Matrix Report gives you an at-a-glance grid of who holds which Certificates. You choose the people or Teams you want to check and the Certificates you care about, and SuperPath builds a matrix with a person on each row and a Certificate in each column, showing the status of every Certificate for every person. It's the quickest way to see Certificate compliance and spot gaps or expiries across your workforce.

How to generate the report

  1. In the left-hand menu, open Reports.
  2. On the Reports page, click the Certificates Matrix tile.
  3. In the Search Criteria panel, search for and select the People or Teams you want to report on (for example, search for your All Company Team to include everyone). Tick Include disabled users if you want disabled accounts counted.
  4. Open the Select Certificates picker and choose the Certificates you want in the report.
  5. Click Generate.

What the report shows

The matrix has one row per person, with a Name and Position column followed by one column for each Certificate you selected. Each cell shows that person's status for that Certificate:

  • A green tick — Has Certificate (held and valid).
  • A circle with a line through it — Certificate Expired (held but past its expiry date).
  • A red cross — Does not have Certificate.

Hover over a person's status icon to see the Certificate detail: who it was Awarded by, and the Date Created, Date Awarded and Date Expires.

Editing, exporting and saving

Once the report is generated you can:

  • Edit — click Edit to reopen the Search Criteria panel, change the people, Teams or Certificates, and click Generate again to refresh the matrix.
  • Export — click Export to choose which columns to include and download the matrix as a CSV (see How to Export a Report to CSV and How to Choose Which Columns to Export). The export can include Name, Position, User External ID, User Status, Email, State and Country, plus a column for each Certificate.
  • Save — click Save Report, give it a name you'll recognise in the Saved Reports tab, and click Save so you can reopen it later (see How to Save a Report).

Things to keep in mind

  • You need to select at least one person or Team and at least one Certificate before Generate is enabled.
  • Whether a Certificate counts as expired is based on its expiry date; Certificates with no expiry date stay valid.
  • Managers and People Managers can only report on their own direct reports and Teams; Owners and Admins can report on anyone.

FAQs

How is this different from the Certificates Report?
The Certificate Matrix is a grid comparing many people against many Certificates at once. The Certificates Report focuses on a single Certificate and lists everyone who has been awarded it, with award and expiry dates.

Why is a Certificate showing as expired?
The person was awarded that Certificate, but its expiry date has passed. Hover over the icon to see the exact award and expiry dates.

Can I report on everyone at once?
Yes — search for and select your All Company Team (Owners and Admins). Managers and People Managers will only see the people and Teams they manage.

Who can do this

The Certificate Matrix Report is reached from the Reports page, which is available to Owners, Admins, Managers and People Managers. Managers and People Managers can only report on their own direct reports and Teams, while Owners and Admins can select anyone. Content Managers, Instructors, Employees and Restricted users don't have access to the Reports area. The report is only useful once Certificates have been set up for your platform.
