Overview
When an announcement is no longer relevant, you can stop it showing on your learners' dashboards. You have two options: disable it to hide it temporarily (you can switch it back on later), or delete it to remove it for good.
How to disable or delete an announcement
- Go to Settings → Features and scroll down to the Dashboard section.
- Click Manage announcements to open the announcements list.
- Find the announcement in the list. In its row, click the Disable icon (the stop-circle) to switch it off, or the Delete icon (the trash can) to remove it. Confirm when prompted.
Disable vs delete
- Disable hides the announcement from dashboards but keeps it in the list. Its status changes to Disabled, and a Enable icon (the play-circle) appears in its place so you can switch it back on later.
- Delete removes the announcement permanently. This can't be undone, so use it only when you're sure you won't need the announcement again.
Things to keep in mind
- Both actions ask you to confirm before they take effect.
- Deleting is permanent — if you might want the announcement back, disable it instead.
- A disabled announcement stays fully editable; re-enabling it puts it straight back on learners' dashboards.
