Overview
When a learner completes a Pathway or an assigned learning item, you can download a completion certificate for them as a PDF — useful for records, compliance evidence, or sending on to the learner. You do this from the person's profile, on their learning list.

How to download a learner's certificate
- In the left-hand menu, go to People.
- Select the person whose certificate you want to download.
- On their profile, open the Learning tab to see their assigned and completed learning.
- Find the completed learning item in the list.
- Click the ⋯ (three dots) icon at the end of that item's row to open its actions menu.
- Click Download Certificate. The option briefly shows "Generating Certificate…" while SuperPath prepares the file, then downloads it.

Note: The Download Certificate option only appears on learning items whose status is completed. If you don't see it, check that the learner has actually finished that item.
When the certificate is available
The certificate can only be downloaded once the learner has completed the learning item — the option is hidden until then. It works for completed Learning Pathways and completed learning assignments. The certificate is generated fresh each time you click Download Certificate, so you can download it again whenever you need a copy.
What the certificate contains
The downloaded PDF is a completion summary showing the learner's name, your organisation, the title of the completed learning, and the dates it was started and completed. For a Pathway it also lists the steps that made up the Pathway. Your organisation's logo is included on the certificate.
Things to keep in mind
- The Download Certificate option is gated purely on completion status — it appears once the item is completed and is hidden otherwise.
- This is separate from the Certificates feature (admin-created credentials attached to a Pathway or Event). Those are awarded automatically on completion and appear on the person's Certificates tab and in the Certificates Report — they are viewed there rather than generated from the Learning tab.
- Learners can download their own completion certificate the same way from their own profile.
FAQs
Where do I download the certificate from?
From the person's profile: People → the learner → Learning tab, then the ⋯ menu on the completed item → Download Certificate.
Why can't I see the Download Certificate option?
It only shows for learning items with a completed status. If the learner hasn't finished the item, the option won't appear.
Is this the same as the Certificates Report?
No. The Certificates Report lists admin-created Certificates that were awarded on completion and links to those files. The Download Certificate action described here generates a completion-summary PDF on demand for any completed Pathway or assignment.
Can the learner get their own certificate?
Yes — they can download it from their own profile's Learning tab using the same ⋯ menu.
Who can do this
Owners, Admins, Managers and People Managers can open a person's profile and download their certificate (Managers and People Managers for the people who report to them). Content Managers, Instructors, Employees and Restricted users cannot open other people's profiles, so they cannot download certificates for others — though any learner can download their own from their own profile.
