Overview

Duplicating an Event creates a fresh copy of an existing one, saving you from rebuilding a recurring workshop, training session or webinar from scratch. It is the quickest way to run the same session again — just duplicate, tweak the dates, and you're ready to assign.

How to duplicate an event

  1. Go to Events to open your Events list.
  2. Find the Event you want to copy and, in its row, click the Copy Event action (copy icon).
  3. When the confirmation appears asking Are you sure you want to copy?, click Confirm copy.

A new Event named Copy of [original title] is created and appears in your list, ready for you to open and edit.

What gets copied

The copy carries over the original Event's details, including its title (prefixed with Copy of), description, cover and images, dates and times, timezone, recurrence, location, external link, Instructor, Skills, CPD points, learning time, HRIS sync setting and any restricted Teams.

Attendees and assignments are not copied — the new Event starts with no one assigned.

Things to keep in mind

  • The copy is not made Available in the Library automatically — even if the original was. Open the copy and turn on Available in Library if you want learners to find and register for it.
  • The copy keeps the original's dates and times, so remember to update them for your new session.
  • The new Event is created within your own organisation and keeps the original's owner.

FAQs

Does duplicating an event copy its attendees?
No. Only the Event's configuration is copied — the new Event has no attendees or assignments until you assign it.

Will the copy be visible to learners straight away?
No. Duplicated Events are private by default, so learners won't see the copy in the Library until you turn on Available in Library.

Who can do this

Owners, Admins, Managers, Content Managers and Instructors can duplicate Events. People Managers, Employees and Restricted users do not have access to the Events management area.
