How to Reorder Announcements

Overview

When you have more than one announcement, you can control the sequence they appear in on your learners' dashboards. There's no drag-and-drop — instead, each announcement has a Display Order number, and the dashboard shows them from the lowest number to the highest.

How to set the order

1. Go to Settings → Features and, under the Dashboard section, open Manage announcements.
2. Open the announcement you want to position — click Create announcement, or the Edit (pencil) icon on an existing one.
3. In the Display Order field, enter a number.
4. Click Save (or Create).
5. Repeat for your other announcements so their numbers reflect the order you want.

How the order works on the dashboard

The Display Order number sets the display sequence: lower numbers are shown first (so 1 appears before 10). Announcements that don't have a Display Order number are shown after those that do.

Tip: Leave gaps between your numbers (for example 10, 20, 30) so you can slot a new announcement in later without renumbering everything.

Things to keep in mind

• Display Order is optional — if you don't set it, the announcement still shows, just after any that have an order.
• Reordering is done per announcement, by editing each one's Display Order number; there is no drag-and-drop or up/down arrow control.
• The Manage announcements list itself is sorted for administration; the Display Order controls what learners see on their dashboard.

FAQs

Is there a drag-and-drop to reorder announcements?
No. You set the sequence with the Display Order number on each announcement.

What happens if two announcements have the same number?
They share the same position in the sequence; give each a distinct number if you need a firm order.

Do announcements without a Display Order disappear?
No — they simply appear after the ones that have a number.

Who can do this

Owners and Admins can set an announcement's Display Order. Managers, Content Managers, People Managers, Instructors, Employees and Restricted users cannot.
